Pack it
- a kaftan: it's hot all year, even in the rainy season (May-November) so don't ruin your break by getting burnt
- dollars: ATMs tend to deal in Dominican Pesos, yet most things are priced in US dollars. Make sure you get some currency before you fly.
- a snorkel: the Dominican Republic boasts some of the clearest waters in its surrounding seas. Take your own gear to enjoy them at leisure.
